一、 简化句子或直接找出主干
二、 将动词的个数，时态，语态确定
三、 将含有“的”的定语用三类译法译出
四、 将对名词补充说明的部分用两类译法译出（活用名词性从句）
五、 将其余的状语部分译出
5.1 条件状语从句：
5.1.1. if 的真假
if 为真
if 从句： 一般现在时
主句： 一般将来时/含有情态动词/祈使句
if 为假
采用虚拟语气
混合时间的虚拟：
5.1.2. “只要”，“条件是”的翻译
on condition that / as long as
5.1.3. “除非” unless

5.2 目的状语及目的状语从句
5.2.1. 目的状语
In order to / To + 动词原形

5.2.2. 目的状语从句
In order that + 句子
The hero died in order to save the others.
The hero died in order that the others could be saved.
5.3. 让步状语从句
5.3.1. though / although / even if 等
尽管他试图把车子停下来，但还是没能避免一场车祸。
5.3.2. 无论
whatever / wherever / whenever / whoever / whichever / however
You can take whatever you want. (anything that)
We have decided to do this, whatever happens. (no matter what)
5.3.3. 不管
regardless of
Everyone in this country has the right to live where he wants to regardless of the color of his skin.
Everyone in this country has the right to live where he wants to whatever the color of his skin is.
5.3.4. as倒装句
adj. /adv. /分词 /名词（不加冠词）/ 短语 + as + 主语 + 谓语
Young as he is, he is strong. （形容词）
Child as he is, he is strong. （名词）
Praised as he was, he remained modest. (分词)
5.4. 方式状语从句
5.4.1. Do as I do.
In Rome, do as the Romans do.
5.4.2. 好像 as if
as if 后的动词时态需向过去推一格
一般现在时 à 一般过去时
She has no money. à She talks as if she had no money.
一般过去时 à 过去完成时
She met a criminal. à She was nervous as if she had met a criminal.
现在完成时 à 过去完成时
She has been to Barcelona. à She speaks as if she had been to Barcelona.

5.5. 原因状语从句
5.5.1.
because 正常语序

because 强调句型
It was because I missed you that I came all the way to see you.
5.5.2. because 与连词搭配
not only … but also

5.6. 时间状语从句
5.6.1. 长短时间
When I was having a shower, someone knocked at the door.
5.6.2. 一…就…
as soon as , hardly … when … , no sooner … than , the moment/instant , on doing sth
It began to rain as soon as I arrived home.
The moment I arrived home, it began to rain.
5.6.3. not…until 结构
正常结构： The little boy didn’t smile until he saw his mother.
倒装结构： Not until he saw his mother did the little boy smile.
强调结构： It was not until he saw his mother that the little boy smiled.
It was not until she had arrived home that she remembered her appointment with the lawyer.
